This is job word of the day number 4. This is admittedly a very uncommon vocation however it something many want to do. Today’s word is Astronaut or 우주 비행사 in Korean.

Ferry – Fresh Korean Word of the Day for Thursday July 12th

Ferry – 나룻배 (Na / ruut / bae)

Well we are up to day 4 of our transportation words of the day week. Today is Ferry which can  be  나룻배 or simply 배 in Korean. These days in Korea Ferries are mainly used for tourism, visiting small islands just off the coast or even going further away to Jeju-do or even Japan, China and Russia.

Well we are now in the business end of the week and although the weather has not been great we can still enjoy learning a little Korean together. Today’s fruit related word is Watermelon or 수박. At this time of year Watermelon is widely available in Korea and main Watermelon farms can be found in the North Jeolla Province as well as other regions within South Korea.

Cat – Fresh Korean Word of the Day for Thursday June 28th

Cat 고양이 – (Go / Yang / Ee)

Well it’s now the business end of the week and that means day 4 of our animal word of the day week. Today we have gone for a real favorite the Cat or 고양이. Cat’s have been kept as household pet for 1000’s of years all around the world and they are very popular in Korea as well. In recent years Dogs have become the overall top pet in area however Cat still remind popular.

The Cat in the photo above in a Korean Short Haired Breed, and it’s most distinguishing feature is its small head and large ears. It looks similar to an African Serval.

Lightning – Fresh Korean Word of the Day for Thursday June 21st

Lightning – 번개 (Bon / Gae)

For day 4 of weather week we have gone for the kind of weather that scares the pets and keeps golfers off the fairway, its Lightning. Almost always seen during a storm and always followed by thunder, lightning is the type of weather that only photographers and storm chasers like.
